Sustainability
We perceive sustainability as fully respecting human rights and social equity throughout the entire supply chain before the products enter the consumer market, as well as meeting the strictest environmental, health, and safety standards. All relevant production and manufacturing information is transparently disclosed, serving as a foundation for long-term communication with people invovled. Sustainability has always been integrating into our business model to ensure that our company's operations are carried out comprehensively based on our commitments to this topic.
Sustainable Development Goals
〔picupi挑品〕 firmly believes that the best products only come from sustainable production and manufacturing.
〔picupi挑品〕 is committed to ensuring that the products and their methods of manufacture have positive significance.
We are having a positive impact on the entire ecosystem of the Earth and the environment in which we live in.
Goal 12. Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
Introduce green design guidelines to our products
Goal 13. Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
Adapt low-carbon manufacturing process to the product lifecycle
Goal 14. Conserve and sustainably use the ocean, seas and marine resources for sustainable development
Provide solutions to the water usage and wastewater issues caused by our products
Goal 17. Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnerships for sustainable development
Long-term communication with our business partners to reach consensus for cooperation of sharing carbon dioxide equivalent data
Zero-waste production
Zero-waste design guidlines have always been our guiding principles when we make decisions about production; this preference meets the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals and principles of environmental conservation.
To start with, we replanned the space of our factory for the new production lines, and we keep as many existing facilities as possible. This decision prevents unnecessary waste of building materials and equipment. Also, smart technologies are introduced to increase efficiency and decrease direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions.
ISO 9001 quality system certification is implemented to ensure high efficiency and high quality throughout the process, from raw material procurement to product shipment. By controlling minimizing the use of potentially hazardous chemicals, what we do is friendly to nature.
Biodegradability of surface active agent > 97%
The cleaning performance is maintained even when all ingredients of our products are plant-based, including surfactants. The wastewater caused by the laundry process can be biodegraded by microorganisms in water or soil, preventing from pollution or damage to the environment; this also ensures health and safety for future generations.
SGS testing refers to methods CNS4984, CNS4985, and CNS4986.

Product life cycle carbon footprint inventory
Applied for ISO 14067: 2018 verification
With the idea of environmental friendly to bear in mind when we design our products, we evaluate the management of our product's lifecycle from start to finish. We try our best to ensure zero-waste is a reality throughout the entire process, from raw material procurement, production, packaging, transportation, consumer use, to disposal. At every stage of our products, we pay attention to predict the changes of them and how they would have an overall impact on the environment.
In March 2024, the carbon footprint of our 550ml EcoCal® Laundry Detergent throughout its lifecycle is verified according to ISO 14064-3: 2019. Compliance with
ISO 14067: 2018 requirements are also confirmed.
Our Goals
2025 / Environmental friendly materials for our products only, such as plant-based and recycled materials.
2026 / Reduce product carbon footprint by at least 40% compared to 2023, including design, manufacturing, marketing, and waste management.
2030 / To protect, recover, restore, and do more to enhance local biodiversity.
2040 / Achieve a minimum 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2022, reaching zero net emissions.
Circular design
Zero waste commitment from production to packaging
We make plans for learning and discussing the latest technology, expertise, and practical assets, aiming to transfer the industry production line to closed-loop production models. By connecting material innovation suppliers, recyclers, and product manufacturers, we build cradle-to-cradle designs and closed-loop ecosystems, focusing on material recyclability and product lifecycle perspectives.
We set proactive sustainability goals for our core raw materials. Targetting innovative, organic, or recycled materials is a crucial decision to make transformation, reduce emissions, and utilize clean energy and water.
EcoCal® Shell Calcium Oxide
Oyster shells or clam shells from aquaculture system are primary fishery and agricultural waste generated in response to daily needs. Hualien Li Chuan Aquafarm from Taiwan applies gold clam for consumption and extraction of clam essence, however, as a by-product, the shells discarded have reached an amount that could no longer be all biodegraded in natural conditions. This long-term accumulation will lead to environmental sanitation issues.
Working together with professors from National Taiwan Ocean University, we found a method of turning these discarded gold clam shells into useful raw materials. In addition to sourcing materials locally, it is also an act to be responsible to the environment.
100% post-consumer recycled plastic
We collaborate with Da Fon Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. from Taiwan, which is the first producer in Asia to receive the German DER BLAUE ENGEL honor for post-consumer recycled plastic pellets. The post-consumer recycled plastic pellets that we purchase from them have a range of international certifications, such as PIDC 100% Post-Consumer Plastic Certification, TUV 100% Post-Consumer Plastic Certification, SGS Carbon Footprint Certification, and much more.
'Post-consumer' refers to plastics that have been used by consumers, then collected through recycling systems, sorted, cleaned, and remade into new plastic products by manufacturers. By utilizing 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, there is no need to use new fossil fuels, which means we significantly reduce the amount of water usage, carbon emissions, and energy consumption!
Recycled paper packaging printed with soy-based ink
To ensure the most materials can be recycled again and again, we withdraw the options of bottle printing, plastic film, and plastic labels. Instead, we apply domestic recycled paper for the packaging of our bottles. After finishing the product, both the paper packaging and the bottle can enter their own recycling systems.
From December 2023, we started to provide the refill option in our first zero-waste concept store in Taipei. Consumers could bring along clean and empty containers to our store, where products are refilled and priced by weight. This contributes to reducing plastic usage.
Reduce waste when it comes to packing
To reduce waste and carbon dioxide emission, the designing of our packaging went through careful consideration. Rather than choosing typical cylindrical shapes, we chose rectangle shapes for our containers. Made from recycled paper, our cardboard boxes are produced by a Taiwanese company called Cheng Loong Paper Co., Ltd. We customize three exclusive sizes of boxes for our products.
Different sizes of our products are placed in matched cardboard boxes accordingly. And when the space inside the packaging is organized properly, then there is no need to apply disposable cushioning materials. Also, the rectangular shape of our product bottles make sure that we maximized the loading efficiency, which means less cardboard boxes will be used, and we could deliver more products per drive. All the decisions listed above help us reduce carbon dioxide emission.
